Shows Around Town is BACK!

It has been too long since I have sent one of these out but October 1st begins one of the best months of music I have seen in New Orleans in the past six year of living here.  I tried to include as many interesting shows/events as possible but there are just so many this month.  Hope you enjoy! --Darren

2240 St. Claude Avenue 10:00pm admission = $5Frank Rosaly is one of Chicago's most exciting new musicians, emerging from that city's very active + intertwined music scenes and playing with such luminaries as Rob Mazurek (Isotope, Chic.Underground, Mandarin Movie,etc.; Ken Vandermark, the Jeff Parker/Nels Cline Quartet, and many others.Frank is touring to present his solo project Milkwork: a study in integration of electronically manipulated percussion instruments, improvising dense sound walls with controlled feedback, overdriven amplified drums and creating soundscapes designed on analog instruments, blending these sounds with more traditional extended techniques on unamplified drum set.
