Shows Around Town: Orquestra Contemporânea de Olinda

Life has been very busy and I am sorry I have not sent one of these out in quite sometime, I want to hi-light this show because I feel many people on this list would enjoy it but do not know about it.  This is a free show of a wonderful band that very rarely plays in the US.  Don't just take my word for it--read the NYT review below--they loved them.

I will send out a definitive Jazzfest List soon.

Thanks,
Darren

Orquestra Contemporânea de Olinda is a 10-piece brass band that plays the high energy rhythms of their Brazilian state of Pernambuco mixed with Afro-Beat and Latin grooves.

On Wednesday, April 7 from 7:30-9:00 pm, the band will perform at Dixon Recital Hall in Dixon Annex 152 at Tulane University. A reception will follow the show. FREE!

New York Times gave the Orquestra Contemporânea de Olinda 's performance at Lincoln Center a great review.
